So...who are Mildred and Betty?
Mildred and Betty were two very exceptional women, and my grandmothers! They both taught me more than I'm sure they ever realized! Their uncommon personalities are what inspired Mildred and Betty's!
Mildred lived in the country on a farm and didn't have a lot of earthly possessions. What she did have was the heart of a saint and servant. From her I learned the importance of our obligation to those around us, whether that's family, friends, or complete strangers. We have the opportunity each day to make another person's day a little brighter. She always put others needs above her own and did whatever she could to make those around her feel loved and cared for. Her gifts were never extravagant, but they came straight from the heart!
Betty was my "fancy" grandma. She was always adorned with diamond jewelry, rhinestone studded shirts, and metallic shoes. Granna (that's what we called her) would definitely love today's fashion trend of BLING! She taught me how to be adventurous and to always enjoy trying new things. When I was too scared as a child to learn to swim, she threw me into the pool! With Granna it was always fun! Gifts from her were always unique and unusual.
